The Amazon is the greater Brazil’s state, with a current
surface with 1.558.987 Km² approximately. A big part of
this territory is covered by virgin bush. Its capital, Manaus,
were, perhaps the Brazil’s city that more knew the wealth,
the enchantments and glamour of the first world, adding with
its rivers and forests the gold and the sophistication imported
from the Europe.
Located in the left edge of the Black River, Manaus has origin
in 1669, in a small village formed around the Castle of Saint
Jose of the Black River, created to provide the region of possible
onslaughts of enemies.

The access to this region is made, mainly,
by boat or airplane. The weather is equatorial humid, with
temperature average/day/year
26,7 ºC, average variations varying 23 ºC and 38 ºC.
The relative humidity of air is around 80% and the State has
only two weather stations defined: Winter: rainy and humid or
Summer: little less rainy and very humid.
The apogee of the capital of Amazon happened with a raw material,
abundant in this region, elementary to producer rubber: the latex.
Supported in the revolution financial and economic proportionate
for the rubber production, the old Manaus was the city richest
of the Brazil for a long time.

After the rubber period, Manaus started
to live an economic growth proportionate for the Manaus’ Free Trade Zone (MFZ).
The city gained an intensive commerce of imported products and
later an industrial district where was concentrated a hundreds
of farms. With the MFZ the Amazon’s capital backed to try
a sudden growth demographic: the population passed of 200.000
habitants 60’s, for 900.00 in 80’s and, finally,
1,5 million in 2002.
Getting influence from some factors like
the pluviometer precipitation, the vegetation and the altitude,
the water forms in the region
the biggest hydrographic bay of the planet. The Amazon’s
rivers are all, practically, navigable during all the year. The
River Amazon is internationally
known how the greater river of the world in volume of water
and extension. The river Amazon has the course calculated in
6.300 kilometers, including the Ucaiale. Its Atlantic arc has
the extension of 400 kilometers. It probably born in Santana
Lake (Andes Occidental), where its reception bay is a glacier
river.
A natural phenomenon that inspires poets, enchants nature’s
lovers, fascinates tourist and instigates searchers: the meeting
of waters of the Black river with the Solimões river.
Two of the biggest rivers of the Amazonia’s hydrographic
bay mark a meeting in front of Manaus city.
The waters of the Black river, whose name drift
of its color, passes ahead of Manaus and, after 10 kilometers,
dispute the supremacy of the riverbed Amazon with the Solimões
river. For 6 kilometers, the two rivers run parallel, measuring
forces, without mixing its waters. The scene is of rare beauty:
the Amazonian Forest cut for a myriad of punctures and small
rivers; dolphins from not salty water (the red specie and tucuxi
specie). These all elements make a party around the boats and
canoes that pass there.
