The Amazon is the greater Brazil’s state, with a current surface with 1.558.987 Km² approximately. A big part of this territory is covered by virgin bush. Its capital, Manaus, were, perhaps the Brazil’s city that more knew the wealth, the enchantments and glamour of the first world, adding with its rivers and forests the gold and the sophistication imported from the Europe.

Located in the left edge of the Black River, Manaus has origin in 1669, in a small village formed around the Castle of Saint Jose of the Black River, created to provide the region of possible onslaughts of enemies.

The access to this region is made, mainly, by boat or airplane. The weather is equatorial humid, with temperature average/day/year 26,7 ºC, average variations varying 23 ºC and 38 ºC. The relative humidity of air is around 80% and the State has only two weather stations defined: Winter: rainy and humid or Summer: little less rainy and very humid.

The apogee of the capital of Amazon happened with a raw material, abundant in this region, elementary to producer rubber: the latex. Supported in the revolution financial and economic proportionate for the rubber production, the old Manaus was the city richest of the Brazil for a long time.

After the rubber period, Manaus started to live an economic growth proportionate for the Manaus’ Free Trade Zone (MFZ). The city gained an intensive commerce of imported products and later an industrial district where was concentrated a hundreds of farms. With the MFZ the Amazon’s capital backed to try a sudden growth demographic: the population passed of 200.000 habitants 60’s, for 900.00 in 80’s and, finally, 1,5 million in 2002.

Getting influence from some factors like the pluviometer precipitation, the vegetation and the altitude, the water forms in the region the biggest hydrographic bay of the planet. The Amazon’s rivers are all, practically, navigable during all the year. The River Amazon is internationally

known how the greater river of the world in volume of water and extension. The river Amazon has the course calculated in 6.300 kilometers, including the Ucaiale. Its Atlantic arc has the extension of 400 kilometers. It probably born in Santana Lake (Andes Occidental), where its reception bay is a glacier river.
A natural phenomenon that inspires poets, enchants nature’s lovers, fascinates tourist and instigates searchers: the meeting of waters of the Black river with the Solimões river. Two of the biggest rivers of the Amazonia’s hydrographic bay mark a meeting in front of Manaus city.

The waters of the Black river, whose name drift of its color, passes ahead of Manaus and, after 10 kilometers, dispute the supremacy of the riverbed Amazon with the Solimões river. For 6 kilometers, the two rivers run parallel, measuring forces, without mixing its waters. The scene is of rare beauty: the Amazonian Forest cut for a myriad of punctures and small rivers; dolphins from not salty water (the red specie and tucuxi specie). These all elements make a party around the boats and canoes that pass there.
